Raise flood every time
It is excluded, and people do not know.
Flood. It is not in your homeowners policy, and it never was.
Insurance is sold on premiums and decided by exclusions. Flood sits outside every standard Florida homeowners policy, and the people who discover that after a storm vastly outnumber the people who were told in advance. Raising it at every review, rather than when asked, is most of what an agent is for.
Health cover has the same shape. A plan chosen on premium alone can carry a deductible and a network that make it the expensive option for anyone who actually sees a doctor, and checking whether your physicians are in network takes minutes nobody spends.
The other thing an honest agency does is state what it is not. We are not the insurer — the carrier underwrites and pays — and a quote from us is not cover until that carrier says so. And the word financial in a company name does not make anyone an investment adviser, which is why we say plainly that we are not one.
It is excluded, and people do not know.
The carrier binds it, in writing.
We are not registered for it.
